Chronic illness turns making plans into a form of gambling where everybody else thinks you know the odds.
When I say yes, I mean yes. I am not penciling you in until something more interesting comes along. I am not trying to appear social while secretly planning my escape. I fully intend to show up, participate, stay awake, follow the conversation, and behave like a person whose nervous system respects a calendar.
