Safe Is Not the Same as Alive.

Concern can protect a disabled person from harm, but when safety becomes the only value in the room, protection starts quietly repossessing the life it claims to preserve.

Concern has a way of arriving with excellent manners and leaving with the keys.

It begins reasonably. Be careful. Take the easier route. Let somebody else do it. Do not go alone. Sit this one out. Each sentence can be loving, sensible and completely defensible. Stack enough of them together, however, and a person can disappear inside a safety plan nobody intended to become a prison.
