My Man Card Has Been Declined.
Chronic illness does not merely change what a man can do; it exposes how much of manhood was being rented from strength, independence, earning, sexual confidence and silence.
I regret to inform you that my Man Card has been declined.
I inserted it correctly. I wiped the imaginary chip on my shirt. I tried again with the confidence of a man who believes technology responds to intimidation. The terminal flashed red and asked whether I had another form of masculinity.
