I Want to Do It Again.

The part of a good weekend I keep returning to is the wish for another one, and I want to understand that wish without making it promise more than it can.

Over a hundred miles is a long way to drive for something I would describe with a very small word: fun. This past weekend, I drove to meet a new friend. We walked several miles in a beautiful park, had lunch, laughed and had a really good time. There was a long stretch when Parkinson’s was not front and center. I have already said that I cannot wait to do it again. That last sentence is the one I want to stay with.

The distance and the walking are easy to turn into the headline. They are concrete. They give a reader something to picture, and they say something about what has become possible for me with continuous infusion. I am grateful for that change. But I do not want to tell this as though the purpose of the day was to produce an impressive set of numbers. I went to spend time with someone. I enjoyed it. I want more time like that.
